Dear Community of Saxapahaw. We have been closely monitoring the ongoing situation regarding public events, capacity limits and Covid-19. We are so thrilled to start to see what we all hope is the bright light at the end of this long tunnel. However, due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding state requirements and timing for summer public events including outdoor events we are still uncertain about Saturdays in Saxapahaw this summer. Limits are currently capped at 100-200 for outdoor events and Saturdays in Saxapahaw draws many, many more people than that each week, and we expect when we are able to start up again it will be QUITE an exuberant gathering. This event also takes significant time, planning and funds to undertake each year so we are trying to plan for the safest guess in terms of when we think an outdoor event of that size will be permitted. Here is our latest plan. We will not have Saturdays in Saxapahaw in May or June this year. It is unlikely that we will have it in July though we will be monitoring the situation closely. We sincerely hope to have events in August but we can not promise that yet. Please understand how much we want to restart this wonderful community celebration! But we also have to respect rules, requirements, safety and insurance matters to make sure that when we restart it’s a safe, allowable, open arms celebration for all of us! We hope you will be understanding as we work our way forward. The Haw River Festival will be virtual this year TOMORROW at this link! https://hawriver.org/haw-river-festival/ Please join in and spread the world and stay tuned!!! Haw River Ballroom shows start in September with a wonderful - soon to be announced - VERY full schedule of shows with bands we love returning to Saxapahaw and more shows being added in each week. In the meantime, Saxapahaw General Store The Eddy Pub Haw River Farmhouse Ales Haw River Canoe & Kayak Company Haw River Trail Left Bank Butchery and Freehand Market are all open for everyone to enjoy during these beautiful spring days! Enjoy the village and the river, walk the trails and prepare - as soon as we can - for the music and market to return. We will keep you posted and again we thank you for your patience and support!
