FAQs
Please read all or use the search below before emailing us, there’s a good chance your question will be answered!
Do you have gift certificates?
Unfortunately we do not, but thank you for thinking of us!
Where can I buy tickets? Can I buy tickets for an upcoming show in person?
Tickets can be purchased online through our events page up to the time when doors open or until tickets are sold out online. If the show is not sold out by the time doors open, you can pay the day of show price at will call. We accept cash or card at the door. Our box office does not takes ticket sales over the phone or in the coffee shop for advance ticket sales.
Do children require tickets?
Yes. Anyone that attends a ticketed show, requires a ticket, regardless of age.
What if I lost my ticket or e-mail confirmation or did not receive a confirmation email?
Please check your spam box as sometimes ticket confirmations end up there. If you still can’t find it, and you purchased tickets through our ticket provider, VenuePilot, you can find them HERE.
If you purchased tickets to a show presented by Cat’s Cradle, we are unable to assist you and you will need to contact Etix, their ticket provider, HERE.
Do you check ID’s? What if I’m under 21?
All of our shows are all ages, unless otherwise specified on the show listing itself. A valid driver’s license or state issued ID, passport or military ID are accepted. If you are under 21, you will receive a red star stamp on your hands. If you are over 21 you will receive a SXPHW stamp. If your ID expired and you have a temporary paper one, you can bring the official paper temporary ID as well as your expired ID. If you have no ID you will need a paper ticket and we will stamp you with a red star and you will be unable to purchase alcohol no matter your age.
Do I need a paper ticket?
We prefer not to use paper if possible! You can show us your ticket on your phone. If you have a paper ticket we will take that too. You can also just give us your ID at the door and we can check you off on our tickets list.
My confirmation e-mail from VenuePilot did not show a ticket. Will my name be on will call?
Yes, your name will be on will call and you will need to show your ID at the door to get into the show. You can also find your VenuePilot tickets HERE.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are non-refundable unless a show has been canceled or rescheduled. We do not offer credits either.
What if I purchased tickets to the wrong show? Can you give me a refund or swap tickets for the show I want to go to?
Unfortunately no. All sales are non-refundable. If you wish to attend a different show, you may sell the tickets and purchase for the show you want to attend.
Can I transfer my tickets to another person?
If you purchased tickets through our ticket provider, VenuePilot, then yes! Please email the marketing manager Kristen to request this transfer- please include the name of the show you were attending, the name of the person you’re transferring to as well as their email. Please note that partial transfers are not permitted with our ticket provider, we can only transfer full ticket orders.
If you purchased tickets to a show presented by Cat’s Cradle, their ticket provider Etix does not allow ticket transfers at this time and we cannot help you with these tickets. You may give the person you’re transferring to the PDF with the ticket(s) and barcode(s).
I purchased tickets to a show with multiple dates, can I switch dates?
No, all ticket sales are final and no refunds will be issued. You will need to purchase tickets to the date you desire to attend and sell/give away tickets to the date you no longer wish to attend.
I can no longer attend, will you help me re-sell my ticket or will you buy back my ticket(s)?
No, we do not buy back tickets and we do not have a resale platform. You are responsible for reselling your ticket(s). You can use platforms like Facebook groups, Stubhub, Seat Geek or Vivid Seats. If you don’t know the face value of the ticket(s), let us know and we will be happy to help you.
I think I got scammed, can you help?
This unfortunately happens often, especially with tickets that are over face value. If the ticket has an Etix logo on it, we unfortunately won’t be able to verify this for you. But if the ticket has a VenuePilot logo on it, please email us and we’ll help you as much as we can.
What is your capacity?
We are a 750 standing room venue.
If a show is sold out, is it really sold out?
Yes. If a show is marked sold out then it is sold out and no tickets will be released because the show has sold to our capacity.
If a show is sold out, is there a waitlist?
No, we do not have waitlists for any of our shows.
Is there seating available?
Most shows at Haw River Ballroom are standing shows unless specifically noted otherwise in show descriptions. Occassionally, artists will ask for shows to be seated on the day of the show. If the show is seated or partially seated- all seats are general admission, first come first serve. For standing shows there is limited reserved seating upstairs in our handicap accessible balcony for those who really need it and limited first-come, first-serve seating available in our top balcony.
Our handicap accessible seating is located on the 2nd floor of our venue, the same floor as our coffee shop Cup 22, which can be reached via the sidewalk that wraps around our building. There are no stairs outside that lead up to this 2nd floor entry. There is also a gender-inclusive bathroom located on the same floor.
If the show is standing room and you require a seat, please email our Box Office once you have purchased tickets at boxoffice@hawriverballroom.com to hold your seat in advance and we will make seats available and put your name on them until we reach our limit. Please note, that if a show says “Seated Show” or “Partially Seated Show”, reservations will not be needed if you purchased a seat ticket. We recommend reaching out to us as soon as you have purchased a ticket. If we have reached our seating limit per show we will let you know. We can not guarantee a seat if you do not email in advance and we can not make more seats available if we have reached our seating limit for standing shows. When requesting seats, please list out what show you’re attending, the date of the show and how many seats you need. You do not need to give a reason for why you need these seats - we reserve seats no questions asked.
How can I be guaranteed the best spot to stand/sit in?
There’s always a chance there will be people lined up before doors open prior to the show, especially if the show is sold out. This all, of course, depends on the artist, and weather, the day of the week that the show is on, and people attending the show. You are welcome to arrive early, but please do not camp out, overnight. We do have a coffee shop inside our venue, Cup 22, that you are welcome to patronize, but it does close early on show days so that artists have time for set up and soundcheck.
What is your bag policy?
We do not have a bag policy as we do not check bags when entering our venue. We do not require you to have a clear bag either.
Do you have a coat check?
We do not. We do have a rack for coats and umbrellas that we keep near the will call windows but it is not secured behind anything.
What is parking like in Saxapahaw?
There is plenty of parking throughout our entire village, which you can see on the parking page HERE. However, we will note that there are only a few ADA spots right outside of the Saxapahaw General Store and outside of our venue. If you need closer parking, we recommend arriving before doors opens, especially on nights when it’s a sold out show.
What is your camera policy?
We are picture friendly, however, DSLR cameras are not permitted at any of our ticketed events. All professional cameras need to be approved in advance by the band’s publicist.
Do you offer food?
We do not offer food at the Ballroom, but we do encourage show goers to support our neighbors at Saxapahaw General Store, The Eddy, Haw River Farmhouse Ales and Left Bank Butchery, and there is a full service coffee shop inside the Ballroom open 8am-5pm everyday, or from 8am-12 or 3pm if there is a show, wedding or private event that day. Follow Cup 22 on Instagram for updates on hours.
What’s behind the bar?
We have several bars throughout our venue. Our menu changes with beers, hard seltzers and ciders to choose from, and we also have cocktails, sake, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Our downstairs bars are cash only. We have an ATM at our entrance. We also keep our coffee shop Cup 22 open, which accepts cash or cards, so if you need some caffeine, we’ve got that too!
Do you have any hotel recommendations?
There are no hotels in Saxapahaw, but we do recommend staying at Benzai Bloomstead in Saxapahaw. If they’re booked, we are halfway between Chapel Hill/Carrboro and Burlington/Mebane. We recommend finding lodging in either of these areas.
Are there any campgrounds nearby?
There are three campgrounds nearby - Saxapahaw Campground, Cane Creek Campground and Benzai Bloomstead.
How can I book a wedding or private event?
See our website and contact karina@hawriverballroom.com.
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes, please call our coffee shop at Cup 22 at 336-525-2449.
Are you ADA accessible?
Yes!
Is it ok if I wear a mask inside your venue?
Absolutely! While we do not require anyone to wear masks inside our venue anymore, you are more than welcome to wear one!
Are you booking vendors for Saturdays in Saxapahaw, Oktoberfest or the Saxapahaw Holiday Market?
Our markets are handled separately from daily Ballroom operations. Please email saxapahawmarket@gmail.com for more information.
Due to a high volume of emails, we cannot guarantee you will receive a response. Please note that all spots are FULL for the 2024 Holiday Market.
