From Chapel Hill/Carrboro
Drive west on highway 54 ten miles from the stop light at Carrboro Plaza. Turn left onto Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd at the green sign and arrow pointing left to Saxapahaw. The Haw River Ballroom is 3.5 miles ahead.
From Durham
Follow 15-501 through Chapel Hill. It will become the 15-501-54 Bypass. 15-501 will exit south toward Pittsboro; continue on highway 54. Follow the direction above for Chapel Hill.
From Graham and I-85/40
Take highway 54 east toward Chapel Hill, exit 148. Drive to the intersection of Mebane Oaks Rd on the left and Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd on the right. This is approximately 11 miles from the interstate. Turn right onto Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd. The Haw River Ballroom is 3.5 miles ahead on the left.
From Hillsborough
Take Orange Grove Rd, which intersections Hwy 70-A/South Churton St a little south of the Eno River, to Hwy 54, where there is a stop sign. This is about 14 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 54. Turn left onto Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd at the green sign and arrow pointing left to Saxapahaw. The Haw River Ballroom is 3.5 miles ahead.
From Pittsboro
Take Hwy 87 North. Go through the blinking light at Eli Whitney; 2 miles farther, turn right at the white historic marker announcing Saxapahaw onto Church Rd. The Ballroom is on the right after you cross the Haw River on the Buddy Collins Memorial Bridge.
Parking
Please be aware that our entrance is down the hill past the Saxapahaw General Store and the Butchery, right next to Haw River Farmhouse Ales.
For handicap parking, please be aware that there are only a few of those spots right outside of the Saxapahaw General Store. We recommend arriving before doors open for a show, especially for nights when shows are sold out, in order to secure one of those spots.
The main parking meadow of the past is now the new Hawbridge Upper School. Parking is available in the lot outside the school. There are new designated parking areas on Pine and Hilltop near & just past the Water Tower. There is a parking area to the right of Paperhand Puppet Intervention and Haw River Canoe/ Kayak’s spaces. Parking is also available in the gravel lot behind the Saxapahaw Museum.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE ROAD or in people’s yards or driveways or blocking residential gates. We love our community and we ask that you respect that people live and work here and need to be able to feel their homes and property are not affected by people coming in for the event. Cars parked in any of these spaces or over the white line on the road will be towed - we have been warned. Now you have as well.
If you are planning on finding other transportation, such as Uber, Lyft, etc, please be aware that cell service in Saxapahaw can be challenging sometimes, so we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to pick up service to call a ride home. Carpooling is highly recommended.
